Henry Kuznik, July 24, 1933 - May 13, 2020
Our founder was born in Rybnik Poland and as a young child was vividly exposed to the wrath and atrocities of World War II. Following the war, he apprenticed in finished carpentry and later partnered with his father as specialists doing Church Bell restoration. He left Germany in 1959, leaving behind his business, his parents, his wife and child (who would later join him) seeking something greater – a chance at the American dream. The rest is history.
Upon arrival in Charleston, SC, Henry did not read or speak English which he rapidly conquered. He swiftly transitioned from working as a master cabinet maker, to a home builder, real estate broker and then to a Recreational Vehicle Park and land developer. Through six decades of exemplifying an incredible work ethic, relentless human drive and developing skills as a disciplined negotiator, Henry’s indescribable business success yielded rapid ascent to becoming a successful business man and entrepreneur. In 2015, Henry founded the Kuznik Charitable Foundation in hopes that at his passing, KCF could be positioned as an organization capable of helping and empowering those in need.
Today, the Board of Directors of the Kuznik Charitable Foundation seek to uphold the high standards of our founder by continuing his legacy through philanthropic giving. The mission statement of KCF is achieved by seeking/supporting/vetting other non-profit organizations that are fiscally responsible, demonstrate a targeted purpose by “touching” the human spirit through their programs of needed outreach and provide assistance accordingly.
